Silicone Mat

A silicone mat is a non-stick baking surface made from high-quality, food-grade silicone. This surface is available in a variety of sizes and forms to fit different kinds of baking pans. The longevity and reusability of a silicone mat are its key advantages. Since they are often made to resist temperatures up to 450°F, silicone mats are particularly well suited for sticky foods that need to be baked at high temperatures. Baking with silicone baking sheets makes baking and cleanup of pans much easier and allows you to make more baked goods at one time. These mats themselves are easy to clean when compared to scrubbing a baking pan with hard-set residue.

You can use a silicone baking mat in many different ways. Here’s a list of what you can use a silicone baking mat for-

·         Replace parchment paper or aluminium foil on baking sheets

·         Keep baking pans clean

·         Lay a silicone mat flat on a countertop to knead bread or roll out cookie dough

·         Put on a tray to heat up food in the oven

·         Cover baked goods in the oven to make sure they rise evenly

·         Place under a cake ring to keep cake batter from sticking to the sheet pan

A silicone baking mat can be used for baking cookies, kneading dough, or baking a cake. If you want to use the mat as a pan liner, simply lay it flat on a cookie sheet. Cookies spread less when placed on silicone mats. If you’re planning on kneading bread or rolling out cookie dough, you can also place the silicone mat on a countertop. This will save flour while also preventing your countertop from turning to shambles. When using a silicone baking mat sheet, there is less browning on the bottom of baked goods and less risk of burning. They are especially good for baking fish on, as you won’t have to worry about the fish sticking and tearing when you lift it off the mat.

Silicone baking mat liners are the ideal baking companion for all of your baking needs, whether you’re making snacks such as cookies, biscuits, croissants, or cakes. Aside from that, you can use the silicone mat for table in order to serve food with hot utensils on the table. A silicone baking mat for microwave cooking is a must-have in every kitchen.

Reviews

When I baked cookies on this silicone mat, they did not spread and they slid right off. Also, since nothing sticks to this mat, clean-up is a breeze. Totally recommend this silicone mat from Asahi Kasei!

Unlike my previous silicone mats, this one withstands high temperatures in the oven. The food does not turn brown or stick to the surface. It's also great for kneading dough on. One of the best purchases I’ve made in a while!
